A Place of Worship: The Renovated Sunnyvale Hindu Temple

A week-long Mahakumbhabhishekam ceremony from May 8 to May 12 marked the opening of the newly renovated Sunnyvale Hindu Temple. This a place for Hindu worship in the true sense with deities from almost all regions of India – North, South, East and West present. The four-day celebrations included religious ceremonies and performances from various Bay Area cultural performers and dance schools, classical Hindustani music and vocals. Representing South India was a Carnatic vocal concert of religious songs by Padma Vibhushan Mangalapalli BalaMurali Krishna, while the North was represented by devotional songs and bhajans by none other than Padmashree Anup Jalota.
