Shah Rukh’s magical spell gripped Silicon Valley last September as the King Khan was here to promote his movie Happy New Year along with the entire star cast of the film and some ace performers from Bollywood. It was a unique promotion where the audience actually paid money to view a show that was more about this upcoming film than the other offerings. The extravagant event was well choreographed, though a tad poorly managed. Yo Yo Honey Singh was missing, declared retired-hurt. A large number of fans faced difficulty securing their prepaid online tickets that resulted in a mob like situation outside the arena. Except for a hiccups, the event itself was well-paced and largely entertaining. A Siliconeer photo essay.
