In February of 2000, Siliconeer launched with a mission to cover all things technology and innovation. Made for the South Asian in Silicon Valley, we have been the leading voice of this community. Now that South Asians are the new 1%, we are thankful and proud to be a part of the community that sprouts high-achieving, suave, and driven individuals.

We are very fortunate to be witnesses of the feats of our community. As we enter our 25th year in publication, we are very ecstatic as we have successfully matured into the publication we strived to be.

Bringing out the voices of tomorrow, keeping in touch with our roots, embracing the changing face of the digital world, and keeping a narrative contrary to the mainstream is what makes this newer rendition of Siliconeer so special. Trailblazers at heart, we intend to keep the spark alive and well.

Starting 2024 on an optimistic and upbeat note:

Gen-Z Editor Vansh Gupta reflects on the evolution of personal computing since Y2K. Youth Editor Janam Gupta dissects CES 2024 and highlights what he believes is the next big thing.

Shreeja Potluri emphasizes the importance of embracing challenges and encourages the youth to push beyond their comfort zones. With adversity comes remarkable transformations.

On a more philanthropic note, former Stanford Executive Chef Devinder Kumar shares a vision to combat food insecurity in the Bay Area. Striving for a better future, he shares the story of his community initiative: ‘Free Meals on Wheels’.

Optimistic about the San Francisco Giants, Mehul Maurya shares how the stagnant team can attain sustainable success for years to come.

India is finally receiving the global recognition it deserves, and we are celebrating the victories.

With the remarkable success of Chandrayaan, India’s space program can be seen as a treasure of valuable lessons for India’s semiconductor mission, write Pranay Kotasthane and Abhiram Manchi.

India celebrated its 75th Republic Day, on Jan. 26. The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, the completion of the new Atal Setu Bridge in Mumbai, and the revitalization of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh with Ram Mandir are testaments to India’s might and the direction it is headed towards.

Contrary to the current mainstream narrative, India is progressing at the speed of light as seen with this year’s Republic Day celebrations. Focusing on women’s empowerment, the parade was led by the mighty women of India. With a new push to become an economic, military, and progressive superpower by 2047, the latest photos prove India is evolving into a new land of opportunity.

Take the road less traveled and reap the rewards. You never know what amazing surprises await you. A recent trip to the Sierra Nevada was more memorable and eye-opening as Vansh Gupta discovered California’s Gold Country and followed the road less taken to the historic town of Truckee.

In the face of global uncertainty, we remain very optimistic about 2024. Seeing the continued resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the South Asian Gen-Z, we confide in the next generation of problem solvers and encourage them to stay contrary to the mainstream.

As a Zillennial writing this editorial, I say norms are meant to be questioned and glass ceilings are meant to be shattered. The false promises of stability and handsome paychecks no longer lure us away from our dreams and ambitions.

Someone told me that no matter how hard it gets, there has never been a better time to make money doing what you love.

With that spirit, we want to continue building this great magazine and inspire the next generation of dreamers.

Here is to creating change and staying contrary to the mainstream.

Cheers!
