The City of Fremont’s Olive Hyde Art Gallery hosts the West Coast premiere of Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation – August 1 through October 10, 2015.


The City of Fremont’s Olive Hyde Art Gallery hosts the West Coast premiere of Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation – August 1 through October 10, 2015. This exhibition, created by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), details the history of Indian Americans and their contributions to the United States from the 1700s to the present.

The family-friendly Opening Reception is scheduled for Saturday, August 1 from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. Special Guest, Smithsonian Curator Dr. Masum Momaya, will present a “Curator’s Talk” at 1:30 pm. Additional activities include: Free Henna Artist on site from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm; Dance and Musical Performances; Mantraah! Food Truck offering vegetarian treats for purchase; and kids Indian crafts.
