The ‘Con’ is On! | Editorial
Silicon Valley has been on a fast-paced course towards global dominance. Renowned for being the hub of innovation and creativity, the Valley never misses a beat and continually evolves. Fashion? Now that is a bit questionable.
It is no question that Silicon Valley holds significant influence on the whole world, and now it’s reaching Washington. With an all-new administration incoming, the Silicon Valley Bigwigs share a vision of optimism and resilience in the face of a potential paradigm shift.
Siliconeer is fortunate to be a spectator of the Silicon Valley evolution. In the last 25 years, we have ridden many waves together, but we stuck true to our commitment. In typical Siliconeer fashion, we have kept the magazine fun, accessible, and simple. With loads of style. Our passion-driven efforts, published with paper and ink, carefully designed, reach your hands time and time again.
These efforts are made worthwhile with every Gen-Z voice from the community engaging in an open dialogue with us.
Reflecting on the current Silicon Valley discourse in Siliconeer style:
Janam Gupta and Vansh Gupta discuss the results of the 2024 U.S. Elections. In typical Gen-Z podcast style, the article introspects on the role of Silicon Valley and the rising support for Donald Trump winning the election. It seems like Elon Musk and Donald Trump have become best “bros,” and we are in for a very entertaining four years, to say the least.
On a lighter note, to commemorate the season of gratitude and togetherness, Khushi Mehta highlights recent advancements in technology and advocacy, paving a path to revolutionary change for individuals with disabilities.
The need for community doesn’t stop there. Bay Area hosted countless conferences since we last met.
Meghna Paul shares highlights of SJSU’s conference on “Responsible Innovation in AI.” The conference united an unparalleled assembly of industry leaders, venture capitalists, and trailblazing innovators.
PG&E hosted a dialogue on innovation and sustainability at its Innovation Summit. Innovators joined to form a path towards carbon neutrality, demand management, and wildfire safety.
Meanwhile, the Santa Clara Convention Center hosted the inaugural Evolve 2024 Conference. Packed with unfiltered wisdom, startup founders, C-Levels, and women business leaders warmed up the halls with secrets to Silicon Valley success.
Not all conferences focused on technology. In a first-of-its-kind event offering a sanctuary for self-discovery and meaningful dialogue, Anika Puri shares highlights on the Wellness Conference for Gen-Z professionals.
In the southern end, the LA Convention Center was home to the largest consumer automotive show – the LA Auto Show. A dream come true for Vansh Gupta, he highlights the commitment of electrification from Kia.
Other adventures include Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park offering a life-changing perspective on nature. Vikshar Athreya shares the journey of diverse landscapes, from the Ngorongoro Crater to the Maasai Boma, with awe-inspiring nature in action.
Also in action were South Asians celebrating many festivities during the month of Diwali.
The festivities don’t end there. Veteran chef Sudha Gupta shows how to turn a cauliflower into a festive and delicious dish, just in time for the holidays.
Ah, yes! The holidays! It’s the time of the year when we gather with our family, friends, and relatives to party till the end of the year. Towns are decorated with colorful bulbs. Fires and hot cocoas suddenly seem to be in fashion. Dad jokes will be shamelessly passed around. The ugly sweaters and socks will be on full display.
Well, we have come to the end of 2024. The year was brimmed with “con” after “con.” CONferences, CONventions, the SiliCON Valley, and finally yours truly, SiliCONeer. Notice how many “cons” have been witnessed throughout this magazine alone. Sorry, we are embracing the holidays already.
As we enter 2025, we are doubling down on making this magazine of America great again. We question the elephant in the room, break barriers, and consider normalcy to be overrated. Our creativity knows no bounds and we speak openly!
In typical Silicon Valley fashion, we stay ‘contrary to the mainstream.’ We move fast, break things, mold new things from broken ones, and continue to drive the South Asian Gen-Z dialogue in the heart and brain of California. We applaud those who challenge the status quo, and we are unburdened by the shackles of traditionalism. We are here to create change and believe in infinite possibilities.
Siliconeer wishes all its readers very happy holidays! See you in 2025!
Cheers!
