Famous names from Bollywood took to Twitter to show and share their love for India on the occasion of India’s 66th Republic Day. A Press Trust of India report.


Marking the 66th Republic Day, Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra among others expressed their ‘love’ and patriotism for the country, Jan. 26.

The stars took to Twitter to extend their greetings to fans.

Bachchan tweeted, “Happy Republic Day for the 26th of January! May our prayers and love for country ever increase … Peace!”

Shah Rukh recalled his childhood days when he used to watch the Republic Day parade with his parents.
“Memories & Pride watching the Parade on TV. Missing my family and how we went to watch the parade from the Freedom Fighters section. Jai Hind,” he wrote.

Actress Priyanka Chopra tweeted Jan. 25 evening, “Looking forward to watching the Republic Day Parade on TV tomorrow… So many childhood memories attached!”

Sonakshi wrote, “Happy Republic Day! #IlovemyIndia #JaiHind.”

Actress Shraddha Kapoor shared a photo of herself with her ABCD 2 co-star Varun Dhawan. In the picture, Shraddha is seen holding the Indian flag in her hand. Both the stars were seen in white traditional outfits. “Proud to be Indian, yesterday, today, tomorrow… Everyday! HappyRepublicDay,” she captioned the picture.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan said, “Happy Republic Day. Jai Hind!”

Ra One director Anubhav Sinha tweeted, “Happy Republic Day India! Keep Rocking! Keep Shining!”
