Renowned jewelers from India, PNG Jewelers unveiled their second store in the U.S. in Fremont, Calif., amid great celebrations, Oct. 16. The showroom was inaugurated by Bollywood celebrity Preity Zinta, who cut the ribbon with PNG Group Chairman & MD Saurabh Gadgil, and lit the ceremonial lamp, writes Vasudha Badri-Paul.


The new store is located at 3760 Mowry Ave., Fremont, CA 94538. PNG’s first U.S. store in Sunnyvale, Calif., has been serving Silicon Valley for about seven years.

As a tribute to PNG’s Indian roots, Dhol, Tasha and Lejim players created a musical frenzy to welcome Preity Zinta, while an aerial banner flew overhead behind an airplane proclaiming PNG’s arrival in Fremont, Calif. Crowds flocked the Fremont store at Mowry Avenue to witness the show and catch a glimpse of Preity.

The launch was followed by a press conference addressed by Preity Zinta, Saurabh Gadgil and CEO Rajendra Soni. Preity was all praises for the diverse collection she saw at the store, with a special mention for the diamond collection.

The store features beautifully crafted gold, platinum, diamond, and silver jewelry. A special inaugural offer of 40% discount on all diamond collection is available exclusively at the new store from Oct. 16-25. CEO Rajendra Soni says, “This is PNG’s humble way of expressing gratitude to our customers, without whose support we could not have come this far. The entire launch event is a celebration of the employees’ untiring efforts and a salute to our patrons.”

Saurabh Gadgil unveiled the expansion plans of PNG Group that had started with a single store in Sangli, Maharashtra, back in 1832. He revealed that by the end of the year, PNG would be 25 stores strong. Earlier this year, PNG reached the shores of Dubai with brand ambassador Salman Khan. The Fremont store is the first in queue of many that are about to open in other parts of U.S., as per Saurabh’s vision.

The group gets its name from the late Purshottam Narayan Gadgil, a doyen of the family and the chief architect who captured the hearts and imagination of the people with his ethics and his jewelry. Some of the most important idols in temples around India are adorned by a Gadgil creation The popularity of the brand resulted in nine stores being launched in nine months in 2015, all across India. Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Preity Zinta are the Global Brand Ambassadors for PNG. PNG has also partnered with movies like “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and the eagerly awaited Salman-starrer “Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo,” having designed all the exquisite jewelry showcased in the movie.

Guests also attended a special program hosted by PNG at the Marriott Hotel in Fremont, Oct. 16. The event was complemented by the humor of stand up comic Rajiv Satyal, and a scintillating fashion show by designer Shekhar Rahate.

The fashion show showcased different lines of jewelry that PNG carries including diamonds, temple, antique and traditional gold jewelry. It also helped display the versatility of each PNG piece and how they can be complemented with different outfits.
