“I am motivated to do action because of you (audience). I do get scared to do action. When I do a stunt I think will this be my last shot. When I look around so many fans, the love and warmth, I want to do different kind of films. That’s my goal,” Jackie told reporters here at a promotional event of his upcoming film “Kung Fu Yoga.”
“I don’t know how many years I can continue making films and doing action but as long as I can I will do it,” the 62-year-old actor said.
Jackie arrived in Mumbai, Jan. 23, for the Indian-Sino venture “Kung Fu Yoga” and was welcomed at the airport by his co-star Sonu Sood.
He later shot “The Kapil Sharma Show” before heading to his hotel in suburban Juhu to address the media.
The “Who Am I” star couldn’t stop heaping praises on Sonu Sood.
“He (Sonu) is tough. We learn martial arts first and then do films. He doesn’t look that strong but he is. He learnt all of it in one week, he knew the timing and rhythm,” he adds.
Jackie thinks beside Sonu, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are good at action.
When asked who is the best action star in Bollywood, he said, “It is difficult to say. Aamir Khan, Salman Khan.”
Oscars came to me, I did not go to Oscars: Jackie Chan
After spending 56 years in the movies, Jackie Chan received the honorary Oscar in 2016, but the action star says he does not work for awards and his only motivation are his fans.
“When I make or do any film I don’t think of awards or anything. (My films were considered) cheap action comedy movies. I don’t care as I am not for awards I am for the audience. Even if my films do well at the box office or not do good, or people watch my films or don’t watch my films I will continue to risk my life for every movie,” Jackie told reporters in Mumbai.
“They saw (referring to his work) after 56 years I did not change; I was doing the same thing, which is why they decided to give me the Oscar. I think one should continue to do their best always. Oscars came to me and I did not go to Oscars,” he said.
The 62-year-old action star was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Eighth Annual Governors Awards at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Los Angeles.
