Two high-schoolers in the Bay Area, Sonal Agarwal and Vaishnavi Bharti, aim to give kids in foster care resources during the pandemic. Their goal is to raise 600 dollars to create about 30 care packages for the Alameda County Foster Parent Association.

The care packages will contain several basic personal care items: masks, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, body wash, socks, toothbrushes, lotion, combs, and a small plush toy. All funds will go towards buying these supplies and creating the packages.

During the pandemic, resources can be hard to acquire for many people. Kids in foster care are especially hurt during this time because they may not have the means to purchase supplies, a method of transportation, or may be dealing with a recent traumatic experience. It is important to help these children get basic supplies that they would otherwise have to worry about obtaining. The packages will also benefit foster families in need by helping take care of their foster child’s basic necessities.

“Every ounce of support we can get is valuable as it would greatly aid us in helping foster children. We appreciate your consideration and the impact your donation can have on a foster child’s life.”
