The Akshaya Patra Foundation will celebrate its 20th Anniversary by holding its “Gratitude Gala” on Saturday, November 21, 6:45 PM EST, to raise funds for feeding migrant families and school children in India.

“Akshaya Patra is celebrating its 20th birthday in 2020!” Vandana Tilak, President of Akshaya Patra Foundation, stated. “We have been entrusted with a very crucial responsibility to feed children in India, and our donors are standing by us more than ever.”

2020 has been a year of change for Akshaya Patra as they have shifted all in-person events to be entirely virtual. These seven virtual galas have reached over 22,000 people and consisted of a great list of speakers, including Raveena Tandon, John Chambers, Shankar Mahadevan, Smt. Sudha Murthy, and many more.

To close out the year, Akshaya Patra’s Gratitude Gala will be their seventh virtual gala. It will feature an incredible line-up of speakers such as Actress and Politician Hema Malini, Poet Javed Akhtar, Consul General of India Randhir Jaiswal, Dr. Rachana Kulkarni, MD, Cardiologist, and Akshaya Patra Board member. Also, guests will enjoy an exclusive concert by talented singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan.

Over 1,000 professionals, non-profits, government officials, and philanthropic leaders are expected to attend the event to celebrate our beneficiaries, volunteers, and chapter teams in Connecticut, Long Island, New Jersey, and New York.
