(L-r): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are in a faceoff regarding the law and order situation in Delhi.

In a direct attack on the Center, the AAP-led Delhi government has put up posters across the national capital requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow the city dispensation to work.

Referring to “interference” of central government in the functioning of Anti-corruption Branch and Delhi Commission for Women, the Aam Aadmi Party government issued a new poster which read, “Prime Minister Sir, Please, let Delhi government work. Delhi government is working fine.”

The poster was put up across Delhi soon after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shot a letter to Lt. Governor, alleging that Najeeb Jung has made the DCW “completely dysfunctional” at the behest of the prime minister.

Accusing the Center of “attempting to weaken” AAP government’s fight against corruption, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “Delhi government’s anti-corruption branch was working with full vigor but as it started getting success, a new chief was appointed illegally.”

“Rumors were spread that the ACB was going to lodge an FIR against a Union Minister,” he said.

Earlier, Delhi government had posted audio clips on social media slamming the Delhi Police and Modi over the gruesome murder of a 19-year-old girl.

Radio and newspaper advertisements have also been issued by the Delhi government to convey the message.

In the advertisement, Kejriwal appeals to Modi to take steps to improve Delhi’s “deteriorating” law and order situation or hand over police to the city government.

Earlier, Delhi Police chief B.S. Bassi objected to the advertisement where Kejriwal has questioned the functioning of the force, calling it “misleading.”
