Prime Minister Narendra Modi was recently in the U.S. on his maiden visit as a state leader. During his trip, Modi was at his diplomatic best, as he aimed to bring a vibrant, clean and business-friendly India to the U.S., and did it with finesse and style.

In an action-packed and eventful visit, Modi projected India as an attractive investment destination, managed to deepen ties with America, addressed the UN General Assembly and enthralled the Indian diaspora. Siliconeer presents glimpses of his trip to the United States.

California’s 17th district, the heart of Silicon Valley, is the most consequential district in the country. Silicon Valley is the global innovation hub. The technology created here has changed the world time and time again. But dynamic changes in our global economy are leaving people behind. His commitment to working men and women is one of the driving forces behind his decision to enter public service, says U.S. Congressional candidate Ro Khanna, in an exclusive interview with Ras Siddiqui for Siliconeer.

Nikhil Cheerla and Vineet Kosaraju talk about their journey to introduce young kids to programming and how they were able to accomplish that with persistence and believing in themselves.

The Modi-baiters see undeniable evidence their forebodings and fears are turning out to be true – that he is a despot, a majoritarian, worse a fascist who will destroy institutions and usurp all power to himself and his band of loyal followers. For them “bure din” under Modi is imminent. Moving on from the doubters, are those that believe the Modi government is laying a stable foundation for the good days or “acche din,” as promised.

The Prime Minister himself leads by example as the hardest working member in the establishment, unlike part time politician Rahul Gandhi and not-permitted-to-work previous incumbent Manmohan Singh, writes Siddharth Srivastava.

Indian scientists achieved an enormous feat when they successfully launched the Mangalyaan – Mars Orbiter Mission. Siliconeer congratulates the Indian Space Research Organization scientists and engineers who were instrumental in achieving this daunting task.

Every year Indian hills and valleys are becoming the zone of one climatic upheaval or the other. In 2005 it was the Mumbai floods, in 2009 Ladakh was struck by flash floods, in 2012 vast stretches of Uttarakhand region were ravaged by furious river water currents, and this September the renowned scenic valley of Kashmir, immortalized by poets and travellers in their famous works, and its capital city of Srinagar that boasted of exotic shikaras (houseboats) dotting the Dal Lake and numerous water-channels were besieged by apocalyptic levels of water sweeping away home and life, writes Priyanka Bhardwaj.

Siliconeer wishes all readers a very happy Diwali!
