India has done it again, winning their second T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Rohit Sharma and his crew owned the pitches all throughout the World Cup, winning all eight games they played.

The star of the show was undoubtably was Virat Kohli, leading the pack with 76 runs to a 7 run victory against South Africa. In true Indian cricket fashion, Kohli goes out with a bang, taking “player of the match” and the World Cup with him into his retirement from T20 cricket. Along With Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma also declared his retirement from T20 cricket. So long, kings.

Jasprit Bumrah also showed off his bowling prowess, with an economy of only 4.5 runs an over, lower than any bowler in the final game. Bumrah took wicket after wicket in all of the games, rightfully earning him “player of the tournament.”

India once again stands at the top with another T20 World Cup under their belt, hoping to continue their streak of excellence in the next World Cup.
