We chant this tune as we work on producing this fine booklet you have in your hands today. Going into August, we reflect on the first half of the year and ponder on what’s next for the second half of this year.

Whether it is the 2024 US Presidential Elections, the 2024 Paris Olympics, or the tumultuous markets and the T20 World Cup, we are barraged with developments – good, bad, or even ugly. Amidst the rollercoaster, our favorite nations have been chanting “GAME ON” since the beginning of this year.

Starting with a momentous 2024 Olympics, American athletes snag over 100 medals and new records. We have always been a nation of great achievers and once again we are home to some of the world’s greatest athletes. Something, that was lacking for the last few years. Noah Lyles snags the title for being the fastest man in the world and gymnast Simone Biles makes a major comeback and finishes with silver. The wait was worth it.

In the Silicon Valley superhighway, a lot has been brewing as well. Female students with a knack for robotics chant “Game on,” as they attend the Girl Powered Robotics Workshop at the India Community Center these last few weeks. Workshops, talks, and loads of computing equipment and languages give way to the next generation of builders and innovators in such events.

As Gen-Z South Asians reel in the reality of current global markets, our resilience satiates the appetite to constantly achieve and innovate. We stay ahead of the curve and keep inflecting in the face of adversity.

Interesting times are ahead as we witness a paradigm shift, once again.

The first shift will be seen in the 2024 US Presidential Elections. This November will seal the fate of the world’s ‘Big Brother.’ Janam Gupta delves into the current state of the American political circus.

Developments in AI have brought forth a second shift. A revolutionary force reshaping modern healthcare, Khushi Mehta takes a deep dive into the immense potential of AI and effective integration into healthcare systems.

Another look of AI is through the lens of Sci-Fi. Many people dream of living life like a Jedi in the Galactic Empire. Dharani Purushotham shows that the dream is slowly becoming our new reality with AI.

Switching our focus towards our beloved motherland, India, the largest democracy in the world, celebrates its 78th Independence Day. Amar D. Gupta delves into the parallels between modern-day social media pervasion and historical oppression by the East India Company and the British Raj.

We celebrate the Indian cricket team’s historic win at the ICC T20 World Cup. Ardent Kohli fan, Manit Dassani shares his experience on the India vs. USA match at the first-ever U.S.-hosted ICC T20.

Congratulations Team India!

Zooming a lens into South Asian health, Rutgers PhD student Vikshar Athreya discusses the key to nurturing overall well-being, given the lifestyle and diet.

In the final article of the travel series, Vansh Gupta shares the picturesque coastal and countryside vibe of England.

Being wowed by the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Janam Gupta praises it as a spirited and practical daily driver.

Finally, Indians, around the world, go gaga over the big fat Ambani wedding with grandiose celebrations throughout the year. We just can’t get enough.

In a world full of unknowns, the Gen-Z stays optimistic and resilient. We look forward to the latest technological developments and keep up with the latest and greatest of politics and business.

South Asian Gen-Zs aren’t afraid to speak out and spark the change they want to see.

To that we say, Game on, Gen-Z, and a Happy Independence Day to all!
