National Award-winning actor Kriti Sanon opened up about the challenges of being an outsider in Bollywood during a masterclass at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Debuting alongside Tiger Shroff in Heropanti, Kriti has since built an impressive career, starring in films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Mimi, and Dilwale. More recently, Sanon starred in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, and produced Do Patti.

Kriti remarked that nepotism is a cycle involving not just the film industry but also the media and audience. “The audience’s interest in star kids leads the media to spotlight them, which in turn influences the industry to cast them,” she explained. Kriti acknowledged the extra effort required by outsiders to establish themselves in Bollywood.

Her journey, from a non-film background to becoming a National Award recipient, is a testament to her belief that hard work can overcome barriers.
