B.Crush: Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan Back in Action
Known for hard-hitting roles and his strong attention to detail, legendary actor Aamir Khan returns to the big screen in “Sitaare Zameen Par,” releasing June 20. After “Laal Singh Chaddha,” Khan pushed back on the ‘comeback’ label: “I’ve had just one flop, and you’re calling it a comeback?” he quipped. The film will receive an exclusive theatrical release—no direct-to-digital option—backed by industry titan Amitabh Bachchan,
“Sitaare Zameen Par” is a spiritual successor to “Taare Zameen Par.” This time, Aamir plays a down-and-out basketball coach mentoring a group of children with intellectual disabilities—a story adapted from the Spanish hit “Campeones.” The trailer drew glowing praise (“heartwarming,” “empowering glimpse”).
Fans on X have largely praised Aamir’s sincerity: “Wonderful trailer!! After a long time, a movie feels worth a visit to the theatres,” one wrote. Another fan on Reddit added, “I’m definitely giving this a watch… Props to Aamir for including actual specially-abled actors.” With Genelia D’Souza as his on-screen partner, the film promises a heartfelt look at inclusion and coaching through compassion. In a touching twist, Aamir’s 90-year-old mother, Zeenat Khan, makes her acting debut.
