Viji Sundaram worked as the health editor at New America Media until it closed in December 2017. She was awarded fellowships from the Fund for Investigative Journalism, Journalists in Aging, Kaiser Family Foundation, Families USA and USC Annenberg. She has won 11 journalism awards, including one for her expose on McDonald’s use of beef in its so-called vegetarian french fries.
