83 | Preparing six months for character is unique: Ranveer Singh

Mumbai, (IANS) – Actor Ranveer Singh who is essaying Kapil Dev in his forthcoming film 83 took six months for the preparation. On Monday, the team left for England to begin filming.

While interacting with media in an interview, Ranveer talked about his preparation journey and said it has been rewarding and fulfilling.

“It’s not a biopic, it is a story about the team, its ensemble cast. I feel prepared and less anxious when the entire process started. This is longest I prepared for any role. Being preparing essentially for about six months. Six months preparing for a character is unique in itself. But then it’s a unique film. Playing a living legend poses a unique set of challenges and your approach to the preparation for that character has to be all the more intensive and it has been. But at the same time very rewarding, very fulfilling. Learnt a lot about what it means to be an athlete, learnt a lot about cricket. and learnt a lot about this legendary iconic cricketer Kapil Dev and the prep phase has been absolutely wonderful. But as you said it rightly, the game begins now.”
