#Vibe.Check | Disruption Evolves
NEW: DON’T WANT TO TIRE EYES? LISTEN TO THE ARTICLE IN PODCAST FORMAT NOW ON THE ‘CON’ CAST!
Conversations have shifted once again. While the Silicon Valley-verse chooses to stay blissfully ignorant of the crumbling social, political, and economic order of America, we remain optimistic of what’s to come in the tough times ahead. Of course, $6 trillion being wiped off the stock market is a huge deal, but we see it as a much-needed correction. The common man can hopefully own shares of these overvalued tech companies.
Americans fear the rise of tariffs leading to a recession. Job displacement, rejections, and layoffs have gone up. Oil prices have crashed; however, gas prices in the Bay Area stay astronomically high. Yes, it may seem like we’re at the edge of a cliff.
However, where many see darkness, we see opportunity. Recessions are a time of deep reflection. History has proven that some of the best innovation and unicorns are built during recessions. It’s the time where the status quo is challenged, and the tough get going when the going gets tough. It’s time we embrace what’s to come. Science and technology are on the cusp of revolutionizing our lives.
The next generation of thinkers are paving the path for us. In this new age of disruption, we are eager to share what’s next:
The smartphone is on borrowed time as the AI boom opens up opportunities for the next generation of computing devices. Vansh Gupta believes the way we live and interact with the world is going to be forever revolutionized.
As real experience, entrepreneurship, and skills heed more value than degrees, entrepreneur and academic Vivek Wadhwa debates the value of an MBA.
Speaking of questioning traditions, Dharani Purushotham questions the century-old practice of following Daylight-Saving Time. Does it even make sense in today’s world? Very thought-provoking, very Gen-Alpha.
Now shifting focus to the Gen-Z, Khushi Mehta explores the benefits of effortless language switching. Multilingualism seems to be more than just a party trick.Three cheers for us South Asians learning 2-3 languages.
Coming from Russia and pursuing an MBA at SJSU, Masha Alekhina highlights the surprising power of a sociology degree in the business world.
Keeping up the brainiac momentum, freshman student Aashi Shinde examines the success of “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” The powerful portrayal of emotions and character morality makes ‘Sonic 3’ a near-perfect movie.
Scene change! Now, let’s talk about the #motherland. India, of course.
There are plenty of reasons to celebrate. India cricket team clinched the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy after dominating New Zealand by four wickets. Lex Fridman hosted PM Modi in a talk on leading the largest democracy in the world. Finally, solar cars and robots were on display hinting on the future in India.
Over here in the Valley, members of Dadi Pariwar USA celebrate Holi with flowers, flags, and colors. Meanwhile, the influential Indian community takes on the challenge to keep no student hungry with the Sattvic Meal Foundation. Lastly, “Chandini Chowk” of Fremont saw the lights, the camera, and the action.
On the note of action, or a lack thereof, Siliconeer’s infamous car-enthusiasts take on a Rivian R1S and share their thoughts on the $90,000 gadget on wheels.
On a trip to India, Janam Gupta has an action-packed adventure making his first stop at the town of Burj Khalifa and Bugattis.
Closing on a high note, We share a collective vision for our readers and our community. This magazine will transcend beyond words and pictures on a printed paper. It will be a collective voice. We will bring out our inner Gen-Z and small hints of our boldness are already seen in this print edition.
Siliconeer wasn’t born for the glam, or the hype, or the clicks. It was born for the crazy ones. The misfits. The future thinkers and feelers. It’s created for the next generation — the ones who dare to question, create, and dream beyond. Siliconeer is for the souls too full for small talk.
We speak to the ones lost in the digital noise, offering light, honesty, and hope.
We address the elephants in the room and open space for innovation — even when it’s messy.
Siliconeer is for the ones who believe they can change the world.
Maybe we can. Maybe we already are.
