South Asians in the Bay Area have many reasons to celebrate. Activities throughout this summer highlight South Asian culture, Indian pride, and representation in local government. Siliconeer presents glimpses of South Asian culture and arts being celebrated throughout the Bay Area.

Fremont residents celebrate India’s Independence Day at the 32nd Festival of Globe India Day Parade and Fair on August 17-18. With a renewed sense of optimism, Bay Area residents were welcomed by “Heeramandi” star, Manisha Koirala.

The mela was braved by many despite the sweltering heat to see Koirala. A display of EVs was brought in by BMW, looking to attract the attention of the largest Asian origin population in California, Asian Indians.
