(Amar D. Gupta | Siliconeer)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>It\u2019s summer and time for parties. Here is a recipe that goes well with drinks, beer and the likes and it does not take too long. It\u2019s not something you would find in a Chinese cuisine cookbook. <b>Chef Sanjay Patel <\/b>shows you how to make this <i>desi <\/i>Chinese dish at home.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Batter:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 packet of baby corn<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp corn starch<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp all purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp ginger garlic paste<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp crushed black pepper<\/li>\n<li>water as required<\/li>\n<li>salt as required<\/li>\n<li>oil for shallow frying the babycorn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Manchurian Sauce:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 spring onions, chopped &#8211; save some greens for garnishing<\/li>\n<li>1 small onion, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 green chili, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd inch ginger, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>4-5 garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp tomato sauce (ketchup)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp crushed black pepper<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp red chili powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tbsp finely chopped celery<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>salt and sugar as required<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp sesame seeds, for garnish<\/li>\n<li>1 small capsicum, julienned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Method:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Batter and babycorn:<\/b> Rinse baby corn in water.<b> <\/b>Chop them if they are slightly big. In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients listed under the batter ingredients except for baby corn and oil. Add water and make a thick batter. Dip the baby corn in the batter and coat them evenly. Shallow fry the baby corn till they are golden brown and crisp.<\/p>\n<p><b>Sauce: <\/b>Heat oil in a wok. Add spring onions and stir fry till they become transparent. Add ginger, garlic, green chilies and celery. Stir-fry for about a minute. Now add soy sauce and tomato sauce (ketchup). Stir and mix well.<\/p>\n<p>Add the fried baby corn and julienne capsicum. Stir and season with salt, sugar, pepper &amp; red chili powder. Stir again till the sauce coats the baby corn evenly.<\/p>\n<p>Serve hot, garnished with spring onion and sesame seeds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Babycorn Manchurian.
