{"id":6624,"date":"2014-11-26T06:39:09","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T06:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ithinkdesi.com\/?p=6624"},"modified":"2014-12-22T02:00:48","modified_gmt":"2014-12-22T10:00:48","slug":"bollywood-guftugu-big-b-summoned-by-u-s-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconeer.com\/current\/bollywood-guftugu-big-b-summoned-by-u-s-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Summoned by U.S. Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Amitabh Bachchan [PTI]<\/i><\/p>\n<p>[divider type=&#8221;thin&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>A U.S. court has issued summons against Bollywood superstar <b>Amitabh Bachchan<\/b> in an alleged human rights violation case filed by a Sikh rights group.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. District Court in Los Angeles issued the summons on a complaint filed by New York-based Sikh for Justice (SFJ) and two alleged victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.<\/p>\n<p>The victims are Babu Singh Dukhiya, based in Delhi, and Mohender Singh, based in California.<\/p>\n<p>The court has directed Bachchan to respond in 21 days after he is served with the summons.<\/p>\n<p>Running into 35-pages, the complaint alleges that Bachchan instigated people for violence after the assassination of India\u2019s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.<\/p>\n<p>In the past several years, SFJ has unsuccessfully tried to drag several Indian leaders to U.S. courts in the alleged human rights violations cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amitabh Bachchan [PTI] [divider type=&#8221;thin&#8221;] A U.S. court has issued summons against Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in an alleged human rights violation case filed by a Sikh rights group.
