Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor agreed to do \u201c102 Not Out\u201d soon after the narration of the script, says director Umesh Shukla.<\/p>\n

Billed as the most unusual father-son story, \u201c102 Not Out\u201d is based on playwright Saumya Joshi\u2019s popular Gujarati play of the same name.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we narrated the idea to both of them, they said okay to the script within 10 minutes. Once they knew the essence is so good, beautiful and playful, also with lot of depth and emotions, they liked it all,\u201d Shukla told PTI.<\/p>\n

The upcoming comedy-drama reunites the powerhouse performers on screen after 27 years.<\/p>\n

The two actors have earlier appeared together in films such as \u201cKabhie Kabhie,\u201d \u201cAmar Akbar Anthony,\u201d \u201cNaseeb,\u201d \u201cCoolie,\u201d and \u201cAjooba.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir chemistry was great. They both were very comfortable with each other,\u201d Shukla says.<\/p>\n

In the trailer, Bachchan is seen as a fun-loving friendly father, while Kapoor appears as a boring son.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn personal life, Chintuji (Kapoor) is quite reserved and Bachchan sir is very jovial. Both are fun loving persons,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

The \u201cOh My God\u201d director says the team did extensive research on getting the look right for the two actors.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of references came from the kind of clothes Gujarati people wear and their appearance, body language, the way they talk, accent,\u201d Shukla says.<\/p>\n

The film features Bachchan as a 102-year-old man and Kapoor will play his 75-year-old son.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to tell the audience – live life to the fullest and deal with problems as and when they come. At the age of 80, you can live like a 20-year-old and vice versa. At any age you can be a happy person,\u201d Shukla says. \u2013 PTI<\/em><\/p>\n

Big B\u2019s Cool Rickshaw Ride<\/strong><\/p>\n

In most of his films so far, Amitabh Bachchan has always been seen riding some of the coolest vehicles. In \u201cSholay,\u201d we saw him riding a quirky bike, in \u201cDon,\u201d a Mustang, and in \u201cPiku\u201d he was seen cycling.\u00a0 In the film \u201c102 Not Out,\u201d the actor will be seen taking a rickshaw ride.<\/p>\n

For a scene in the film, the actor was required to take public transport from one location to another. And being the sport that he is, he immediately hopped into the rickshaw and did the shoot. Even though there was a crowd that had gathered to watch the actor shoot, the crew made sure that the shoot wasn\u2019t disrupted and the fans who had come to see the megastar got a glimpse and were also not disappointed.<\/p>\n

Speaking about this, director Umesh Shukla says, \u201cAt first we were hesitant as the shape of a rickshaw is quite small and we wondered if Mr Bachchan would be comfortable given his tall stature and 6\u20192 height. However, when we conveyed this to him, he insisted on traveling in the rickshaw and was quite enthusiastic too, reliving his young days! In fact, the entire day we shot in the rickshaw.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c102 Not Out\u201d is set for release on May 4. \u2013 Sterling Media<\/em><\/p>\n
