Actor Rani Mukerji is happy that the audience accepted her film \u201cHichki\u201d and did not let her marital status come in the way.<\/p>\n

Rani, 40, said the film\u2019s success is a clear indicator that it does not matter if the actor is married or \u201cis a mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is her first film after the birth of her now two-year-old daughter, Adira.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt (success) means a lot to me because I was coming back after a baby, so obviously there were so many questions. I am happy you accepted me with open arms and have told me very categorically that my marital status, the fact that I am a mother, doesn\u2019t bother you,\u201d Rani told reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you really want is (for) me (to do) good content films. Thank you so much for all the love,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The film, which released recently, featured the actor as a teacher with Tourette\u2019s Syndrome. \u201cHichki\u201d is directed by Sidharth P. Malhotra and backed by Maneesh Sharma and producer Rani\u2019s husband Aditya Chopra.<\/p>\n

When asked about her future plans, the actor said she would focus on doing more films.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll keep making these comebacks sooner. But definitely I\u2019ll do more films. That\u2019s always been something I have loved doing. I wanted to see how \u2018Hichki\u2019 does. It\u2019s important to know if the audience wants to see you back on screen, because there was a gap of years which I took after my marriage and baby,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to see if people were keen to see me. Now that I know they are, I am sure the projects I had kept on hold till the release of \u2018Hichki\u2019 will now see the light of the day,\u201d the actor added.<\/p>\n

Rani said her daughter finally understands that she was a working woman and quipped she does not like her mother wearing make-up.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe understands that I am coming from work now and says \u2018Mumma just remove the make up.\u2019 She doesn\u2019t like make-up, just like her father. So that way, the DNA is working fine,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
