She respects Swara Bhasker\u2019s opinion on \u201cPadmaavat\u201d but Taapsee Pannu<\/b> says believing in the same ideology as feminists does not mean they would agree on each and every aspect.<\/p>\n

Her comments come after Swara slammed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the \u201cglorification\u201d of the now-banned archaic \u2018jauhar\u2019 practice in an open letter, for which she is receiving a lot of flak online.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think everyone has a right to their opinion. I, however, don\u2019t agree with Swara. Just because we both are feminists doesn\u2019t mean we have the same take,\u201d Taapsee told PTI on the sidelines of the Lakm\u00e9 Fashion Week Summer\/Resort 2018 in Mumbai.<\/p>\n

The actor added every movie does not need to be analyzed under a microscope.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see films as films. I don\u2019t bifurcate too much. Not every film should be seen that way. They were just trying to show what really happened. It\u2019s not about what one should do.<\/p>\n

We should try to distinguish between the two,\u201d she said commenting on the depiction of the \u2018jauhar\u2019 sequence.<\/p>\n

In her letter, Swara had said that \u201cfelt being reduced to a vagina – only\u201d after watching the period drama.<\/p>\n

Talking about Bollywood\u2019s quest on exposing Harvey Weinsteins at home, Taapsee said things will fall in place if \u201cwe start by addressing trolling\u201d that women face on the social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cFortunately, or unfortunately, I haven\u2019t had any experience like that. So, I can\u2019t take an active part in this debate. I think once we take care of issues that trouble women such as social media trolling, then we can get started on taking on this large an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor will start shooting for Anurag Kashyap\u2019s \u201cManmarziyan\u201d in mid-February, in which she stars opposite Vicky Kaushal.<\/p>\n

Taapsee said she is a little \u201cscared\u201d about working on the film as the director has asked her not to prep for the role.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still have to go to the workshops, then I start shooting. Anurag has asked me to come on the sets as I am. He doesn\u2019t want me to prep. So much so that I\u2019m worried as I like to prepare for a role, getting into its vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
