Nawazuddin Siddiqui is \u201cexploiting and disrespecting\u201d a woman to sell his autobiography, former Miss India Niharika Singh said, Oct. 24, responding to the actor\u2019s claim that he had an affair with her.<\/p>\n

In his memoir, \u201cAn Ordinary Life,\u201d penned with Rituparna Chatterjee, the 43-year-old critically acclaimed actor said he shared a \u201cpassionate\u201d relationship with his \u201cMiss Lovely\u201d co-star.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued Oct. 24, Niharika admitted to an affair with the actor, but said the details given by him are laughable.<\/p>\n

\u201cNawaz and I had a brief relationship in 2009 during the making of \u2018Miss Lovely\u2019 that lasted less than a few months. So today, when he paints me as a woman in fur enticing him into her bedroom with candles, or desperately calling him and mailing other women on his behalf, I can only laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe obviously wants to sell his book and it would appear that he is willing to exploit and disrespect a woman just to do so,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Nawaz has written that his affair with Niharika lasted for almost \u201cone-and-a-half years\u201d and she sent emails on his behalf to his former girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Niharika denied sending any such mails and said the \u201cBabumoshai Bandookbaaz\u201d actor \u201chas chosen to fabricate stories and manipulate a fleeting relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of what he has written has been with my knowledge, let alone my consent. It is this very aspect of Nawaz that caused me to end my relationship with him in the first place.<\/p>\n

I have always maintained that he\u2019s a brilliant actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, I had hoped these acting skills would have remained confined only to the screen. Still, I wish him well,\u201d Niharika added.<\/p>\n
