(Santosh Hirlekar\/PTI)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Enforcement Directorate has received replies from actor <b>Amitabh Bachchan<\/b> and his family members to notices issued to them in connection with its probe in the Panama Papers case and they could be summoned soon, officials said.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Officials in the anti-money laundering agency said they had issued notices to the Bachchan family some time back asking them to explain their foreign remittances since 2004 under the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the RBI.<\/p>\n<p>They said the Enforcement Directorate has now received their replies to the notices issued under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe replies have been received. They could be soon summoned as part of the probe,\u201d sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Amitabh Bachchan\u2019s name had cropped in the Panama Papers case which is also being probed by the Income Tax Department.<\/p>\n<p>The taxman is probing Bollywood megastar\u2019s offshore remittances.<\/p>\n<p>Dubbed as \u2018Panama Papers,\u2019 an investigation of a stockpile of records from Panama legal firm Mossack Fonseca by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists had named several world leaders and celebrities who had allegedly stashed away money abroad in offshore companies.<\/p>\n<p>The documents had surfaced last year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amitabh Bachchan at the press conference for \u2018Kaun Banega Crorepati 9th season,\u2019 in Mumbai, Aug. 23.
