{"id":270077,"date":"2024-12-08T17:36:30","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T01:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siliconeer.com\/current\/?p=270077"},"modified":"2024-12-26T20:47:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-27T04:47:23","slug":"grannys-baked-gobhi-coconut-cauliflower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconeer.com\/current\/grannys-baked-gobhi-coconut-cauliflower\/","title":{"rendered":"Granny\u2019s Baked Gobhi \u2013 Coconut Dressed Cauliflower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Prep time \u2013 45 Min<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Cook time \u2013 45 Min<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Serving Size \u2013 4-6 People<\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>For the Gobhi (Cauliflower):<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 medium-sized cauliflower <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>4 cups water <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. salt <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp. butter, melted <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>For the Coconut Dress:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1 cup grated coconut <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1 cup chopped green coriander (cilantro)<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. green chili paste <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. ginger paste <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. cumin powder <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. coriander powder <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. dry mango (<i>amchur<\/i>) powder <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. tamarind (<i>imli<\/i>) paste <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup water <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>For Garnish:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Tamarind <i>chutney<\/i> and <i>Aloo Laccha <\/i>(crispy fried potato strands) <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Method:<\/b><b><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><strong>P<\/strong><b>repare the Cauliflower: <\/b>Remove all the green leaves and the thick stem from the back of the cauliflower.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thoroughly wash the cauliflower with water. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add 2 tsp. of salt. Submerge the cauliflower in the boiling water and blanch it for 2 min. Remove the cauliflower and let it cool. Once cooled, use a fork to poke holes in the cauliflower.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Baking the Cauliflower:<\/b> Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F (175\u00b0C). Grease a baking tray and place the cauliflower on it. Brush the cauliflower with 2 tbsp. of melted butter. Bake the cauliflower in the oven for 20 min. or until it turns light brown. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Make the Coconut Dress:<\/b> Add the grated coconut, green coriander, green chili paste, ginger paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, <i>amchur<\/i> powder, tamarind paste, and \u00bd cup of water to a blender. Blend until a smooth paste forms.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Take the partially baked cauliflower out of the oven and spread the coconut paste evenly over the top. Return the cauliflower to the oven and bake for another 20 min. until the top turns golden brown. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Remove the cauliflower from the oven and garnish it with tamarind <i>chutney <\/i>and <i>aloo laccha<\/i>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Serve hot and enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Image by Amar D.
