Realizing the American dream, while honoring the strong roots and culture from the country of origin \u2013 This is the motto of 32nd<\/sup> Festival of Globe (FOG) India Day Parade and Fair being held on August 17th<\/sup> and 18th <\/sup>at 39439 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA.\u00a0 Organized by Federation of Globe (FOG) and Federation of Indo Americans (FIA) of Northern California, this largest celebration of democracy coincides with India Independence Day. This year FOG continues the celebrations and tradition that has been part of Fremont culture for the past 31 years.<\/p>\n

Thousands of people are expected to join the FOG India Day Parade and Fair. There will be cultural programs, free Wellness fair, Food Fest, kid’s activities, and biggest ever grand parade with famous Bollywood celebrity Manisha Koirala bringing grand recognition and support from India. People can not only immerse in the Indian culture, but can also visit, eat, and shop at over hundred\u00a0booths.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

India Day Fair will show case some of the best presentations in dance and music. This year, there are multiple categories of dance performances. Over 250 local dance groups will compete in Classical, Folk, Bollywood, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and others. Each category winner will be awarded with a prize. Contestants will participate in their age groups, divided in 5yrs \u2013 11yrs, 12yrs \u2013 18yrs, and Adults.<\/p>\n

Fair will feature a variety of delicious cuisines from different regions of India. North Indian, South Indian, Savory snacks will be served by 7 food trucks organized by the best-known restaurants and caterers in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

FOG India Day Grand Parade will be held on August 18th<\/sup> from 11am to 1pm and boast of over 90+ entries representing a wide cross section of community, ranging from Indian regional cultural communities to Bay Area organizations. Parade runs through sections of Fremont areas and is a spectacle to enjoy. Roads are blocked to facilitate the smooth and comfortable viewing of the parade. This has become a ritual for families to spend a summer Sunday, watching their favorite celebrities and enjoy the Fair.<\/p>\n

FOG India Day Parade and Fair coincides with India\u2019s Independence celebrations. This provides an opportunity for the community to celebrate the event and appreciate the value of freedom, both in their country of origin – India as well as oldest democracy and land of dreams \u2013 USA.<\/p>\n

Manisha Koirala is the star attraction and \u2018Grand Marshal\u2019 in the parade this year to engage and entertain the community. Manisha has acted in many movies including the famous web series \u2018Heeramandi\u2019. \"\"<\/p>\n

Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and Convener, FOG (Festival of Globe), said, “Over the past 3 decades, FOG has made great strides helping Indian community realize their American dream and anchor in the Indian values.”<\/p>\n
