{"id":241267,"date":"2021-05-15T15:57:16","date_gmt":"2021-05-15T22:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/siliconeer.com\/current\/?p=241267"},"modified":"2021-05-15T15:57:16","modified_gmt":"2021-05-15T22:57:16","slug":"looks-can-be-deceptive-taju-halwa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/siliconeer.com\/current\/looks-can-be-deceptive-taju-halwa\/","title":{"rendered":"Looks can be Deceptive: Taju Halwa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s not what it looks, and it is packed with the goodness of unexpected ingredients, writes <strong>Sudha Gupta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup watermelon rind, chopped (without the skin)<\/li>\n<li>2 <em>paan<\/em> leaves<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup cashews<\/li>\n<li>2 green cardamom<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup semolina<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup gram flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup clarified butter (<em>ghee)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>A pinch of saffron<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp rosewater<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Blend the watermelon rind,\u00a0<em>paan,\u00a0<\/em>cashew, cardamom, and milk until a smooth paste.<\/li>\n<li>In a nonstick pan, roast semolina in <em>ghee<\/em>\u00a0on low heat until there is a light pink tint and then add gram flour.<\/li>\n<li>After one minute add the content of the blender to the pan and mix.<\/li>\n<li>Keep the pan on the stove until it is thick and then mix in the sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Mix in milk and let it sit on the stove for about 3-4 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from the stove and put in the saffron &amp; rose water.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish it with your choice of nuts and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s not what it looks, and it is packed with the goodness of unexpected ingredients, writes Sudha Gupta.
