Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has taken exception to Rahul Gandhi\u2019s reference of Bollywood while talking about dynasty politics during his speech at University of California at Berkeley.<\/p>\n

\n

Kapoor said each generation of his family has been \u201cchosen on merit\u201d by the public and the Kapoors\u2019 contribution to the 106 years of Indian cinema is 90 years.<\/p>\n

Rahul, in his speech at the University of California at Berkeley, had talked about how dynasties are a fact of life in India. He, however, did not mention the Kapoor family in his speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost parties in India have that problem So…Mr Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast. Mr Stalin (son of M Karunanidhi in DMK) is a dynast… even Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast. So that\u2019s how India runs. So don\u2019t get after me because that\u2019s how they India is run. By the way, last, I recall, Mr Ambanis are running the business. That\u2019s also going on in Infosys. So that\u2019s what happens in India,\u201d Rahul had said while listing several prominent Indians born into famous families.<\/p>\n

Kapoor, however, posted a series of tweets as a reaction to Rahul\u2019s speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cRahul Gandhi. In the 106 years of Indian cinema of India, Kapoor\u2019s contribution is 90 years. And each generation is chosen by public on merit,\u201d Kapoor tweeted.<\/p>\n

Besides all others.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see otherwise. So don\u2019t bull**it people on \u2018dynasty\u2019. You have to earn people\u2019s respect and love through hard work not zabardasti<\/i> (forcibly) and gundagardi<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kapoor had courted controversy last year too when he suggested that roads and building named by the Congress after the Gandhi family be changed.<\/p>\n
