With movies such as \u201cDev D,\u201d \u201cThat Girl in Yellow Boots\u201d and \u201cMargarita with a Straw\u201d to her credit, Kalki Koechlin<\/b> has never followed the conventional path a female actor would take.<\/p>\n

\n

Kalki says she likes being tagged as \u201cunconventional\u201d as it is her uniqueness that makes her feel beautiful.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeauty is such a vast thing. We tend to look at beauty from a commercial angle. Uniqueness is another kind of beauty.<\/p>\n

What you stand out in, is what makes you beautiful.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am always told I am an unconventional actor and I embrace that unconventionalness as that is what I am. Beauty is not just about external beauty but about honing your personality,\u201d Kalki said at an event in Mumbai.<\/p>\n

The actor has been roped in as the brand ambassador of cosmetics brand Oriflame to launch the campaign – \u2018A Beautiful Change.\u2019<\/p>\n

The brand aims to empower women and Kalki believes gender equality is still needed in the society, when it comes to sharing responsibilities at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we live in a society where there are jobs and education available to women but they still lack confidence as women go through the pressure of getting married. Certain laws are patriarchal.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI think domestic responsibility too needs to be shared at home. You can\u2019t have women empowered in office but not at home. This balance is a big challenge,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

On the work front, Kalki will next be seen in \u201cJia Aur Jia,\u201d alongside Richa Chadha and \u201cRibbon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have two films \u2018Jia Aur Jia\u2019 with Richa (Chadha).<\/p>\n

It is about two girls on a road trip to Sweden. This will be out by October end and then there is an independent film \u2018Ribbon\u2019 coming in November.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
