Gupta\/Siliconeer)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>A favorite for any age, this iteration of the heavenly <i>samosa<\/i> is the perfect party appetizer, writes <b>Chef Sanjay Patel.<\/b><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>For the Chhol\u00e9<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2 cups\u00a0soaked and boiled chick peas<\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp.\u00a0oil<\/p>\n<p>1\u00bd tsp.\u00a0garlic paste<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp.\u00a0ginger paste<\/p>\n<p>1 cup.\u00a0chopped tomatoes<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp.\u00a0green chili paste<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp.\u00a0<i>chhol\u00e9 masala<\/i><\/p>\n<p>1 tsp.\u00a0black salt<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp.\u00a0chili powder<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd tsp.\u00a0dried mango powder (<i>amchur<\/i>)<\/p>\n<p>salt\u00a0to taste<\/p>\n<p><b>Other ingredients<\/b><\/p>\n<p>4\u00a0<i>samosas<\/i><\/p>\n<p>4 tbsp.\u00a0dates and tamarind <i>chutney<\/i><\/p>\n<p>6 tsp.\u00a0green <i>chutney<\/i><\/p>\n<p>2 tsp.\u00a0red garlic <i>chutney<\/i><\/p>\n<p>4 tbsp.\u00a0finely\u00a0chopped onions<\/p>\n<p>4 tbsp.\u00a0<i>sev<\/i><\/p>\n<p>4 tbsp.\u00a0finely\u00a0chopped coriander<\/p>\n<p><b>Method<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>For the chhol\u00e9:<\/b> Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add garlic paste, ginger paste and saut\u00e9 on a medium flame for a few seconds. Add tomatoes, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes or till the tomatoes turn soft and mushy, while stirring occasionally. Add the green chili paste, <i>chhol\u00e9 masala<\/i>, black salt, chili powder, dried mango powder, little salt and approx. 2 tbsp. of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally. Add the chick peas and \u00bc cup water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes while mashing it lightly using a potato masher.<\/p>\n<p>Divide the <i>chhol\u00e9<\/i> into 4 equal portions and keep aside.<\/p>\n<p><b>Chaat: <\/b>Take 1 samosa, roughly break it into small pieces and place in a bowl.<b> <\/b>Put a portion of the prepared <i>chhol\u00e9<\/i> evenly over it.<b> <\/b>Pour 1 tbsp. dates and tamarind <i>chutney<\/i>, 1\u00bd tsp green <i>chutney<\/i>, \u00bd tsp red garlic <i>chutney<\/i>, 1 tbsp. of onions and 1 tbsp. of <i>sev<\/i> evenly over it.<b> <\/b>Finally sprinkle some coriander.<\/p>\n<p>Do the same for the rest of the <i>samosas.<\/i><b> <\/b>Serve and enjoy immediately.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samosa Chaat.
