(AFP\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Arjun Rampal, whose film \u201cDaddy\u201d is based on the life of Arun Gawli, says the movie is not an attempt to glorify the life of the gangster-turned- politician.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The 44-year-old actor insists that it should be left to the audience to form an opinion about Gawli after watching the biopic, directed by Ashim Ahluwalia of \u201cMiss Lovely\u201d fame.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has so many layers in life and they are so intriguing. It\u2019s not that we are making a propaganda film about him&#8230; The audience needs to make an opinion about him,\u201d Arjun told PTI.<\/p>\n<p>The actor says he is not glorifying Gawli on screen and is presenting his life story the way it is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAshim Ahluwalia wanted to say something strong and poignant through \u2018Daddy.\u2019 It is not siding with anybody, it is not about glamorizing someone but showing the realism of that world and bringing it out to people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actor does not believe that he has taken a risk by making a biopic on a gangster rather than opting for an achiever\u2019s life as is the norm in Bollywood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny film is a gamble or risk. You don\u2019t know what film is what. Like \u2018Neerja\u2019 is a biopic on an air hostess. Who would have thought that it will work? Every film is a risk as the idea or story might sound interesting but it can either go right or wrong,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Arjun recently released the trailer of \u201cDaddy\u201d and he is happy that Gawli and his family have liked the movie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he (Arun Gawli) was out on parole he saw the film and he really liked it. It\u2019s a hard-hitting film so he was like \u2018zyada hogaya\u2019 (too much). He is happy and even the family is happy.
