When asked about her opinion on several actors turning singers, the 31-year-old actress said she wished one could use technology to improve their acting skills, as one uses a software to make their vocals sound good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish there was auto-tune for acting. That would make everyone win the best acting award immediately. The fact is you can correct the \u2018sur\u2019 but you cannot Photoshop acting,\u201d Shruti told reporters in New Delhi.<\/p>\n

The \u201cD-Day\u201d actress, who is also a singer, said her father Kamal Haasan was quite particular about her receiving proper musical training and that her competence cannot be compared with her \u201cBehen Hogi Teri\u201d co-star Rajkummar Rao.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy father would always insist on training. I trained in Hindustani and then I went to music school. I know that training is very different. In our own film, Raj is a trained actor from FTII.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis training is different from my approach to acting.<\/p>\n

You cannot compete, I can\u2019t say that I can do better than him.<\/p>\n

You do what you do, I do what I do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Shruti said for the last few years her focus has shifted from creating music to acting in movies but she is planning her return to singing soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cMusic has been pushed further away. When I was 14, I used to do music 365 days a year. But for four years, it has been all about movies. They take over your life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was doing multiple films, I had no chance to make music. I could only do playback for my films… Now in my life, it is about balance… I miss it a lot. (But) I\u2019ll be back, I promise,\u201d the actress said.<\/p>\n

Talking about the importance of social media today, Shruti said that she is in favor of this new arc in technology.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor actors, social media is a driving force. Its positive aspect is that it connects people everywhere in the world. I focus only on its positives. Yes, there are some negatives and it depends on the individual. There should be a balance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pro-social media because I get lot of love (from my followers). (And) there is a block button for negative comments. It does not affect me. People some say for the sake of saying,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
