(AFP\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>@siliconeer #siliconeer #Entertainment #SirRogerMoore @JamesBond007 #JamesBond007 #Octopussy #Udaipur \u2013 Sir Roger Moore, the third \u2018James Bond,\u2019 came to India twice that included a trip in 1982 for the shooting of \u201cOctopussy.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The British actor passed away, May 23, in Switzerland after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 89.<\/p>\n<p>Some scenes of \u201cOctopussy,\u201d which was released in 1983, were shot in Udaipur in Rajasthan. Permission to film at the various palaces in the city was given by the Maharana of Udaipur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOctopussy\u201d is the 13<sup>th<\/sup> film in the James Bond series.<\/p>\n<p>The film is named after Octopussy, played by Maud Adams, who is the head of a secret order of female bandits and smugglers.<\/p>\n<p>The film, also staring Kabir Bedi and Vijay Amritraj, was shot at locations including Lake Pichola and Monsoon Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Moore\u2019s second visit came 23 years later in 2005 as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador promoting the use of iodized salt. In 2005, Moore was accompanied by his wife to India.<\/p>\n<p>The Moores visited a primary school in Bhamoria district in Rajasthan which has had a comprehensive awareness-raising program on iodized salt.
