Deepika Padukone refuted reports, Feb. 23, that she would be attending this year\u2019s Oscar gala in Hollywood, Calif. \u2013 @siliconeer #siliconeer #Bollywood @Bollywood #DeepikaPadukone #2017Oscars #Hollywood<\/p>\n

There were reports that the actress, high on the success of her debut Hollywood venture \u201cxXx: The Return of Xander Cage,\u201d will be walking the red carpet of Oscar\u2019s this year.<\/p>\n

When asked about the same, the actress told reporters, \u201cThat\u2019s an interesting question…. But no, no.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though the actress hinted that this year she will not attend the Academy Awards, she is glad her Hollywood project was well received.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, what was really heartening was the way India embraced the film. I think just the way everyone embraced my performance, even the way I spoke in the film, that makes me really happy.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo step out of your comfort zone and work in a territory that you\u2019re absolutely unfamiliar with and not knowing what the end result might be, then to see that translate into this kind of love and appreciation, it makes me feel like it\u2019s worth taking all of those risks,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

When asked if there is a pressure on celebrities to always look good, Deepika said it\u2019s actually about the expectation people have from them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it depends from individual to individual. A lot of people have a different way of handling it. I wouldn\u2019t say there is pressure, but expectations, yes. There is a lot of expectation from everyone to look a certain way,\u201d Deepika said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me it doesn\u2019t really matter. If I\u2019ve had a long flight and I look great, then good, if I don\u2019t that\u2019s also ok.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s totally ok to not have great days, to not feel your best or have low days. You\u2019ve to allow yourself that much and not be hard on yourself,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Neha Dhupia, who was also asked the same, quipped, \u201cEveryday (I feel the pressure). Specially when I scroll my Instagram feed and suddenly Deepika\u2019s picture pops out. It\u2019s the worst feeling in the world. And Soha\u2019s too.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
