Having started with a rustic boy-next-door look with \u201cBand Baaja Baarat,\u201d the actor had a major turnaround with films like \u201cGunday,\u201d \u201cRam Leela,\u201d and \u201cDil Dhadkne Do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love female attention, I have always admitted that,\u201d Ranveer says, adding, \u201cI was a fat kid till I was 14 so female attention is golden for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old actor has reached a stage where he does not mind being called a sex symbol.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven when you lose weight, you are always fat in your head. For me, female attention is one of the best things ever.<\/p>\n

I love it. I love women and women love me. I love being looked upon as a sex symbol. It is amazing,\u201d Ranveer told PTI in an interview.<\/p>\n

Ranveer reveals he has been hit on by men too, even before he landed himself the debut role in Yash Raj\u2019s 2010 sleeper hit.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I have been hit on (by men), propositioned, everything. I am cool with it,\u201d Ranveer says nonchalantly, before adding, \u201cIt is not my cup of tea and I very politely and respectfully tell them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been happening to me for years, even before I was famous. All the more after I became famous but it doesn\u2019t surprise me anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

In almost his seven-year journey so far, Ranveer has played different shades of the \u2018lover boy\u2019 be it the street-smart Delhi lad in \u201cBand Baaja…,\u201d the brooding romantic in \u201cLootera\u201d or the fearless warrior in \u201cBajirao Mastani.\u201d<\/p>\n

In real life too, the actor insists, he is a very romantic person who can go all out when madly in love, something which made him say he is \u201cthe best boyfriend ever\u201d on the latest episode of \u2018Koffee with Karan.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that,\u201d Ranveer says when quizzed about the statement. I consciously nurture significant romantic relationship, if I have one. I leave no stone unturned in that endeavor. So, I guess that\u2019s what makes me the best boyfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is a huge change for him, as Ranveer says he was a \u201cphilanderer\u201d earlier whose outlook has changed today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was quite the philanderer, promiscuous. Everybody goes through phases. I have had my phase of philandering and promiscuity. You eventually evolve out of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his latest, \u201cBefikre,\u201d the actor is in romantic hero avatar again although the character of \u2018Dharam\u2019 is more like him in the sense of being a \u201clight-hearted, happy-go-lucky guy, who doesn\u2019t take himself too seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film aims to celebrate love in a carefree, fun filled and impulsive way. Though his character might have problems saying \u201cI love you,\u201d Ranveer says he is far from being frivolous.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t call him frivolous. He is definitely a good-hearted being. I think his outlook on romantic relationships is something, (that) I used to be like him. But in a different phase of my life.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay be Dharam is me six years ago. Now, my outlook has changed a bit. But I used to be like that, back in my heydays,\u201d he quips.<\/p>\n
