From Santa Cruz, all the way south to San Diego. There are two major cities and then there\u2019s Big Sur, a coastal area brimmed with many majestic and refreshing tourist attractions. Bixby Bridge, Point Lobos, and Pfeiffer Beach are just a few gems from the whole necklace.<\/p>\n<p>Going down the scenic Highway 1 is simply magnificent as there are many interesting tourist spots en route and the highway itself does not fail to impress. Point Lobos is a secluded natural tourist spot just off Highway 1 near the south end of Carmel. Point Lobos is considered the &#8220;crown jewel&#8221; of the California Parks system and it is apparent why. Even on a 1-mile hike the park has many beautiful natural scenes, it is almost unreal. But a hike at Point Lobos is just the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>Going further south comes Bixby Bridge. Whether it&#8217;s on an actual camera or an iPhone, the bridge will always look good in front of the Pacific Ocean. After the short hike at the picturesque Point Lobos and the photo shoot at Bixby Bridge, refreshment is needed and Pfeiffer Beach is gladly willing to help.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering Pfeiffer Beach, a parking attendant will stop you. Don\u2019t be surprised if you hear that the lot is full and they are not allowing any cars. They usually tell you to come back and try in 30 min to 1 hour. Perfect, just enough time to catch some coffee and junk food if you have been too busy enjoying the natural beauty and totally forgot about snacking. Just drive up North on Highway 1 and catch some grub. Then, head back to Pfeiffer Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Pfeiffer Beach is a private beach and it is one of the best beaches in California. With soft purple sand, and clear, refreshing, cool water, Pfeiffer Beach is the place to go to take a dip in the water and to relax after a long day. If you stay there long enough, and the sky is clear, you will be lucky enough to see one of the most serene sunsets, California has to offer. We were there but the clouds and fog got the better of us, hence no photos of the actual sunset.<\/p>\n<p>Point Lobos, Bixby Bridge, and Pfeiffer Beach do not have cellular reception and rightfully so. Who needs a small screen when you have a cinemascope widescreen view that is simply resplendent and admirable. All you really need is a camera, a really good one if you will, some food, and drinks, beach gear and a fun car to enjoy Big Sur and all the spots in between.
