Not for the faint at heart, warns, <b>Chef Sanjay Patel.<\/b> (Lifestyle, #IndianFood, #Chicken, #ChickenGarlicChiliMasala)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookipedia.co.uk\/recipes_wiki\/Oil\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Oil<\/b><\/a> for frying<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp black pepper<\/li>\n<li>2 large onions, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>8 to 9 large cloves of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookipedia.co.uk\/recipes_wiki\/Garlic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">garlic<\/a>, peeled and crushed<\/li>\n<li>1 inch ginger root, unpeeled but finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 Chicken breasts<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd pint chicken stock<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp whole cumin seeds<\/li>\n<li>1 small cinnamon stick<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp coriander seeds, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookipedia.co.uk\/recipes_wiki\/Ground\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ground<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp of paprika powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp red chili powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp turmeric powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ginger powder<\/li>\n<li>8 to 10 whole green Indian chilies, stalks removed and cut in half lengthwise<\/li>\n<li>1 can plum tomatoes or 5 large tomatoes, quartered<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp tomato pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li>salt to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Method:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Heat the oil in a wok. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookipedia.co.uk\/recipes_wiki\/Fry\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fry<\/a> them in small batches so they are browned. Remove and reserve.<\/p>\n<p>If necessary, add a little more oil, add cumin seeds and black pepper. As soon as the cumin seeds start popping, add onions and garlic, reduce the heat and gently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookipedia.co.uk\/recipes_wiki\/Fry\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fry<\/a> until softened, about 4 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add all of the spices apart from the green chilies and stir-fry for a few minutes. Add chicken stock and the reserved chicken pieces, cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add canned tomatoes, tomato puree and the green chilies and cook for a further 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick.<\/p>\n<p>Check seasoning and serve with rice <i>pilaf<\/i> or <i>Naan.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chicken Garlic Chili Masala. (Amar D.
